Pasco County Commissioners Name Street in Honor of Dr. Rao Musunuru

HUDSON — A resolution by the Pasco County Board of County Commissioners recognized Dr. Rao Musunuru for his continued medical, scientific, humanitarian, advocacy, educational, and philanthropic contributions by the designation of Dr. Rao Musunuru Loop.


The Dr. Rao Musunuru Loop will run through the CARES campus in Hudson, Florida, connecting the two buildings also named in his honor; the CARES Rao Musunuru M.D. Enrichment Center and the CARES Rao Musunuru, M.D. Activity Center. 

Diane Eisenbeis Maddox, CARES Center Manager initiated the request for the street name and proclamation. She stated, “As CARES all-time top donor, Dr. Musunuru has been such a tremendous asset to our senior community. We wished to honor him with this designation.” 

Jemith Rosa, CARES President and CEO said, “We look forward to the official unveiling of the street sign during the upcoming Grand Re-Opening of the newly renovated CARES Rao Musunuru, M.D. Activity Center.”

Rao Musunuru, M.D. Mini Bio

Dr. Rao Musunuru, who has called Pasco County his home since 1981, was instrumental in transforming a 50-bed rural hospital into a 290-bed Heart Institute at Bayonet Point/Hudson Regional Medical Center. He has received numerous awards and continually serves the community at large through education and philanthropy.
