Pasco County Schools Recognizes Rao Musunuru, MD and Shayne George

Hudson, Florida – Pasco County Schools recently recognized Rao Musunuru, MD and Shayne George for generous contributions to Pasco County Schools “Students in Transition” program. The Students in Transition program is Pasco County’s program that works to ensure the educational rights of homeless children and youth, and also helps to meet many of their basic needs.

Dr. Rao Musunuru and Shayne George (recent CEO of Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point) made personal donations, to the district’s “Students in Transition” program. The donation is made to the Pasco Education Foundation to help the district’s homeless students program giving these disadvantaged children the support they and their families need to succeed.

As part of his ongoing efforts to help the various sections of the needy in the community, local philanthropist Rao Musunuru, MD, takes the initiative to make donations and periodically raise funds to assist the homeless students enrolled in the school district. The total contribution this time totaled $16,000.

Dr. Rao Musunuru, who has called Pasco County his home since 1981, was instrumental in transforming a 50-bed rural hospital into a 290-bed Heart Institute at Bayonet Point/Hudson Regional Medical Center. He has received numerous awards and continually serves the community at large through education and philanthropy.
